FDC opens an office in Norway

Leading IT Company sees great opportunities in Norway – opens new office

The Danish company, FDC, the Nordic region’s leading supplier of IT systems for the insurance and pension sector, sees the Norwegian market as one of great potential and is opening an office in Norway with a Norwegian woman at the head to run the company.

After sound growth in the Norwegian market, the Danish company FDC (Forsikringens Data Center) is now opening an office in Oslo.

FDC develops and supplies advanced IT systems to companies in the property and casualty, health, and life insurance sectors and in the pension sector. Up to now, all communications and services supplied have been performed from FDC in Denmark, but an organisation is now being established in Norway which will operate in close collaboration with customers and carry on FDC’s successes in the Norwegian market.

Gjensidige, one of FDC’s Norwegian customers, welcomes the company to Norway. “We have worked with FDC for many years and are delighted that FDC is now opening an office and setting up in Norway. The country manager for FDC in Norway is Karin M. Smith, who has 14 years’ experience in the insurance sector in the USA and Norway. She has been general manager for Cardiff Insurance and has held positions within underwriting, sales and marketing with the insurance company AIG in New York and Oslo. 

Karin M. Smith is a qualified business economist with an MBA from St. John’s University in New York and a Master of Management from the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo. 

FDC will open its office at a central location in the Oslo area and is now recruiting a number of experienced employees to serve the Norwegian market.
